This team match play competition has been played since 1995 by teams from Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.  Missouri has dominated this tournament, winning six times ('95,'96,'98,'99,'04' and '06).  Their strongest competition has always been Oklahoma who has taken the trophy five times and successfully defended this year.  Arkansas had two consecutive titles, while Kansas hasn't managed a win as of yet.  The Missouri team is chosen from the MWGA Amateur Championship top scoring players, and has been a goal for amateur competitors each year. 

MWGA Fore State Director Barbara Berkmeyer says that the golf course was fabulous (and tough!) and so was the Oklahoma team.  The teams endured rainy conditions throughout the tournament and since the club didn't allow carts, they had to carry their bags during the competition.  Barbara also said that the Missouri team played very good golf, as team member Lyndsey Haupt said "I was four down and only 1 over par! ".. so the competition was spectacular.  It was great experience for our players as they got to play Southern Hills CC which has hosted four PGA Championships and a U.S. Open.  It's just wonderful for these players to have the opportunity to test themselves against the best at challenging venues and to play for Missouri!
